I read a really interesting and intriguing article. Did you know about the Yellow Bathtub Duck? Radisson Hotels started an interesting idea servicing their travelers who spend a great deal of time in their rooms. So it was said that they first include this yellow duck with a welcome note to the guest and that they are welcome to take the duck home with them, perhaps for their kids. And if they prefer, they could even ask for mailing to anywhere in the world with a message from the guests, this would of course cost a nominal fee.
This extra service to the guest exactly has very low costs, moreover if there’s guest interested in the mailing service, the nominal fee actually covered quite a bit of cost already. It was also mentioned that the results of this service had over thousands of lovely yellow ducks all over the world drawing a smile on the recipients.
And of course, the profile of the hotel raised lots of awareness and gave an impression that even a branded hotel could have some fun. ;)
I think this doesn’t only apply for work and marketing aspect, but definitely reflects on life and us humans as well, one of the standard formulas that reapplies. Let this remind us how to live a little … Think about living a little and be merry!
